The three women approach their canvases in vastly different ways:

“Green” by Wendy Clayton

Wendy Clayton works with color and texture to evoke past experiences and loves the feeling of “building” paintings. She studied at Mass Art, Portland College of Art and the Paris American Academy in France. She is a Feng Shui practitioner whose work is steeped in experience in graphic arts, design and the fashion industry.

“Tree of Life” by Erika Manning

Erika Manning’s work is about the interior and exterior landscapes she travels, and loosely references ocean, rock, seaweed, fog, stars, and trees, as well as the in between places where water meets land and the built environment. She is interested in maritime charts and topographical maps, and much of her work gives the sense of being done from an aerial perspective. While she works toward a finished image, the beauty for her is in the the process of creating, which she sees as a spiritual practice of self-discovery.

“Pulling at my Hair” by Marli Thibodeau

Marli Thibodeau explores how movement reveals our inner state, a reflection of the interior world in both painting and dance. She has discovered through un-choreographed visual and movement art that we can deepen and enrich the experience we have of ourselves and each other. Using non- objective language she creates rich visual movements of color on the canvas.

All three artists use their vast experience in the arts to bring forth subtle emotion, contemplation, and exploration. The results are just beautiful paintings that elicit positive response.
