Hundred Heroines unveils creative summer youth programme

This summer, Hundred Heroines, the Gloucestershire-based museum and the only UK charity dedicated to women in photography, launches an exciting programme of creative activities aimed at local young women.

The programme celebrates the organisation’s recent move to a new permanent space at Nailsworth Mills.

From volunteering and understanding what goes into running a museum and its archive, to growing your own SCOBY, and developing your creativity and leadership skills, Hundred Heroines is committed to nurturing the next generation of female artists through an unforgettable exploration of art, science, and collaboration.

Harriet Hughes, museum lead and youth programme co-ordinator at Hundred Heroines, says of the initiative: “We are running these free, high-quality workshops in order to create opportunities and open up the art world for the next generation, regardless of background.

“Engagement with the arts can be transformative and it’s crucial that everyone should have access to them.”
