St. Joseph businesses collaborate for women-focused event
ST. JOSEPH — Five St. Joseph-area businesses will host the Empowered Minds Women’s Event on Saturday, March 9.
Those businesses include W|R Home Company, White Peony Boutique, Kensington Bank, Eating Elevated and KPower Yoga.
“I feel like there’s just a huge community piece in St. Joe as general, just with all the businesses,” said Kendra Harlander, co-owner of W|R Home Company. “There’s kind of like this unspoken camaraderie with all the women too and just like doing everything we can to support each other.”
Each business will contribute in its own way, offering yoga, therapeutic treatments and gift bags and hosting speakers, including Emma Hansen of Serenity Wellness, Saundra Lauer of Well & Co and Ellie Anderson of Eating Elevated.
The event started last year, and drew 85 people. Harlander hopes to see a similiar number of attendees on March 9.
“It’s coming from the aspect of there is such a lack of help for women, whether it’s you know, after birth or just finding those connections of other women in the area,” Harlander told St. Cloud LIVE.
“Really, just an overall day of connecting everyone, connecting all these businesses, just giving women maybe that boost,” Harlander said. “… Maybe their health journey, maybe it’s their mental health. Just kind of creating a safe space to do that.”

When: 8 a.m. to noon. Saturday, March 9
Tickets: Tickets are $39 (includes speakers and gift bags) or $99 (includes yoga class and therapeutic session, speakers and gift bags). Coffee and appetizers will be provided.
