The dynamic Helen Walbey on Women in business, scooters and lifelong learning 07/29 by Tea with Lily

Helen Walbey is the Managing director of the only female owned motorbike scrapyard in the country, namely Recyle Scooters Ltd.  She’s the National Policy Chair for Health and Diversity at Federation of Small Businesses as well as a Doctorial candidate at the University of Wales.

Now on her fourth successful business after taking the plunge and leaving the corporate world behind her, sixteen years ago, Helen is a passionate believer in seizing opportunities, allowing women to cut their own path in any field they choose and supporting those who work with and for her. She strives to be an effective role model for those wishing to work in the more atypical sectors and is actively involved in promoting enterprise to young people and women across Wales.

Her mantra is…

“Be happy.  Be happy with what you’ve got; be happy with striving for more – Just be happy.”

Advice to would be business owners is…

“How do I make what makes me happy, make me money”
