Top gongs for NQ women

Meet the Townsville female entrepreneurs who took out top honours at the AusMumpreneur Awards

The women have taken top honours in various categories in the 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards.

The awards were held at an online event where talented mums in business from all over the country gathered to support and encourage other Australian mumpreneurs.

One of the Townsville winners, Taryn Claire Le Nu, who founded the To Cancer with Love and Women Raising Vibration movement, said this year was the first year that Townsville had so many finalists in the national awards.

“With 12 finalists from Townsville, we took out 15 awards,” she said. “This is an incredible achievement for the mums in business in our city.

“The calibre of the women in Townsville I have gotten to meet through the awards are the kind of women you’d be proud to also call your friend as these women are honest, compassionate, committed, smart, valuing connection, collaboration and community.”

Shanna Hunter, of Hunter Taxation Services, who won silver in the regional business category, says it was such a great honour to be recognised.

“I am proud to receive this amazing award which recognises the importance of regional businesses,” Ms Hunter said. “Since establishing my accounting firm, I have grown my practice to now employ two great full-time staff through word-of-mouth referrals. I am grateful to be part of an outstanding group of women who are making the world a better place.”

AusMumpreneur network co-founder Katy Garner said the awards showed the passion of women who wanted to fulfil their entrepreneurial dreams as well as be great parents.

“Despite the pandemic the number of women starting businesses has continued to grow in the last 12 months,” Ms Garner said. “We are thrilled to be the number one community for mumpreneurs and proud to showcase the best and the brightest each year through these awards.”
