Tourism Innovation Summit opens… | Travolution

The 2024 Tourism Innovation Summit is now accepting accreditations for the three-day event that returns to Seville from October 23-25.

More than 7,000 professionals are expected to converge on the Spanish city to learn about the latest technologies in AI, Business Intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, connectivity, 5G, and augmented or virtual reality.

In addition, TIS2024 will discuss the current industry trends and challenges through 10 thematic axes that are thought essential for the future of tourism.

The first of these is the promotion of innovation and new technologies in the sector to improve the tourist experience, anticipate trends and promote destinations.

Experts like Bruno Hallé, from Cushman & Wakefield; Dolores Ordóñez, from Gaia-X Hub, and representatives from associations such as IFITT, will explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data in tourism, and touch on the importance of cybersecurity.

Digital transformation and digitisation of processes to improve tourism business operations and destination management will also be discussed as will sustainability, circular economy and responsible tourism.

Companies such as Ilunion Hotels and TUI Care Foundation will present success stories in the destinations where they operate that apply the circular economy by reducing waste and reusing resources.

Initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint of tourism and to adapt tourism infrastructures and services to climate change too will be shared and tourism managers from cities such as Madrid, Amsterdam or Florence will share their strategies to minimise the environmental impact of tourism and the integration of sustainable, responsible and ethical practices.

The promotion of accessibility in tourist destinations will also be addressed and projects that promote inclusion will be presented by Magali Bertolucci, head of diversity, inclusion and wellbeing at MSC Cruises.
