WATCH: Gugulethu business women triumph against the odds

Cape Town – Getting financing for a women-owned cleaning business was the greatest challenge that faced the Gugulethu duo behind Sinako Facilities Management.

The small business, which is run from the home of Nomhle Ketelo in Gugulethu with her best friend Nomaphelo Mtwecu, is a testament to challenges that can be overcome from a township-grown enterprise.

“Going to banks and ask(ing) for finance was a big hurdle,” Mtwecu told Fin24. “They couldn’t recognise that we could sit with a bank manager around a table and discuss our financial situation.
